- Delivery model decides the category: Own vans need route planning and dispatch software, UK parcel carriers need multi-carrier shipping software, and own vans plus carriers need a delivery management system that allocates between them.
- Starting shortlists: London own-fleet grocery: eLogii, Onfleet, Spoke Dispatch. Own fleet plus DPD and Royal Mail: FarEye, Bringg. Furniture and two-person delivery: Track-POD, Descartes, FarEye. Carriers only: Shipmate.
- UK checks that separate tools: Carrier integration depth, ULEZ and Congestion Charge vehicle rules, GB drivers' hours, regional postcode coverage, and UK GDPR obligations separate UK-ready delivery software from generic tools.
- UK GDPR for driver tracking: Driver tracking usually relies on legitimate interests or legal obligation rather than consent, and UK GDPR does not require UK or EEA hosting when international transfers are properly covered.
- Pricing: Shipmate publishes GBP prices; most other vendors price per driver, task, stop, or by custom quote in USD or AUD, with SMS, API tiers, and onboarding often charged extra.
- Test before signing: Run each shortlisted tool on a real day of UK orders, including a carrier overflow, a missed window, a disputed delivery, and a van that isn't ULEZ-compliant.
Choosing delivery management software in the UK is harder than most lists make it look, because the products don't solve the same problem. Some plan routes for your own vans. Some print labels for Royal Mail and DPD. A few decide, order by order, which of the two should take the parcel.
Pick the wrong category and no feature list will rescue the project. An own-fleet route planner won't book your DPD overflow, and a shipping tool won't dispatch your drivers. The stakes are visible to customers, too: Ofcom's 2025 survey found 68% of UK consumers had a delivery issue in the previous six months (Ofcom, October 2025).
We have shortlisted the top 10 delivery management softwares in the UK based on criterias like carrier integrations, ULEZ handling, drivers' hours, UK GDPR, and pricing.
Quick Comparison: 10 Delivery Management Tools for UK Operations
Start with categories and fit. The first table shows what each tool is and how it's priced; the second shows how UK-ready it is based on the evidence its vendor publishes.
| Tool | Category | Best for | Pricing model | G2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FarEye | Delivery management system | Own vans plus UK carriers at enterprise volume | Custom quote | 4.7/5 |
| Descartes | Route planning and fleet management | Large own fleets where compliance shapes routes | Custom quote | 4.3/5 |
| Bringg | Fleet and carrier coordination | Retailers with in-house dispatch and carrier partners | Custom quote | 4.6/5 |
| eLogii | Route optimisation and scheduling | UK own fleets with complex routing and shift rules | Custom quote | 4.8/5 |
| Onfleet | Route planning and dispatch | Urban own fleets wanting a fast start | Published task-based plans, free trial | 4.6/5 |
| Spoke Dispatch | Route planning and dispatch | Small and mid-size fleets running multi-stop routes | Published per-stop plans, free trial | 4.7/5 |
| Track-POD | Proof of delivery and route planning | Deliveries that need detailed handover records | Per driver per month, free trial | 4.5/5 |
| Detrack | Delivery tracking and proof of delivery | Small fleets that need tracking and POD quickly | Per driver per month, free trial | 4.5/5 |
| Locate2u | Route planning and delivery scheduling | Teams whose customers book their own slots | Platform fee by module, free trial | 4.5/5 |
| Shipmate | Multi-carrier shipping and labels | Parcel-only retailers shipping through UK carriers | Published GBP plans by label volume, free trial | Not rated |
Note: Several tools have few G2 reviews (eLogii 5, Spoke Dispatch 11, Detrack 12, Locate2u 12, Bringg 14), so weigh them lightly. The Descartes rating is for Descartes Fleet Performance Management.
Which Type of Delivery Management Software Do You Need?
Delivery management software plans, dispatches, tracks, and confirms deliveries, but the three types on this list do that for different delivery models. Your model rules out most of the market before you book a demo.
| Your delivery model | What you need | Tools to look at |
|---|---|---|
| Own vans and drivers | Route planning, dispatch, a driver app, proof of delivery | eLogii, Onfleet, Spoke Dispatch, Descartes, Track-POD, Detrack, Locate2u |
| UK parcel carriers only | Labels, rate comparison, tracking across carriers, returns | Shipmate |
| Own vans plus carriers | Allocation between vans and carriers, one tracking page, one exception workflow | FarEye, Bringg |
The expensive mistake is a mismatch. Run a hybrid operation on an own-fleet tool and you end up building carrier integrations yourself; run your own vans on a shipping tool and you buy a second platform for routing. If you only ship through carriers, our guide to ecommerce shipping software is a better starting point than this list.
UK Shortlists by Operation: Where to Start
Most UK buyers only need to compare two or three tools. These starting shortlists come from product positioning and the UK evidence above, not from head-to-head testing, so treat each one as the list to demo first, not the answer.
30 Vans Delivering Groceries Across London
Your problems are tight windows, expensive routes, and late arrivals.
Shortlist: eLogii, Onfleet, Spoke Dispatch. Compare route quality and re-planning on the same day's orders, then the all-in cost per stop. Before you sign, check which vans are ULEZ-compliant and whether the tool can keep non-compliant vans off London routes; of the three, none documents that publicly.
Warehouses in Manchester and Birmingham, Own Vans Plus DPD and Royal Mail
Your problem is deciding, order by order, whether a van or a carrier takes the parcel, and keeping customers informed either way.
Shortlist: FarEye, Bringg. The deciding test is whether allocation rules move orders between your vans and carriers automatically, by postcode, delivery promise, cost, and capacity, and whether the customer sees the same tracking page afterwards. If routing your own fleet is the bigger problem and carriers are a side channel, add Descartes.
Furniture and Appliances Across Wales and the Midlands
Your problems are damage disputes, signed handovers, and two-person scheduling.
Shortlist: Track-POD, Descartes, FarEye. Test condition reports, two-person workflows, appointment booking, and how fast you can retrieve proof of delivery for a disputed order. Descartes counts UK two-person specialist ArrowXL as a customer, and FarEye runs big and bulky delivery workflows with crews, slots, and carriers in one plan.
2,000 Parcels a Day Through UK Carriers, No Vans
Your problem is shipping efficiency, not dispatch.
Shortlist: Shipmate first. Look at a delivery management system only if you plan to add vans or need allocation rules across many carriers at enterprise volume, where FarEye's multi-carrier shipping capabilities apply. Check label volumes against plan limits and how overages are billed.
5 to 50 Vans That Need Tracking and Proof of Delivery This Month
Your problem is visibility and evidence, quickly.
Shortlist: Detrack, Spoke Dispatch, and Locate2u if customers book their own slots. All three have free trials; compare SMS charges and the currency you'll be billed in before you commit.
The 10 Best Delivery Management Software for UK Operations
Every entry uses the same format. Pros and cons summarise recurring themes in G2 and Capterra reviews, and the UK fit line covers only what the vendor publishes.
1. FarEye
FarEye is a delivery management system for operations running their own vans alongside UK carriers and 3PLs. It allocates each order to a van or carrier by rules, plans routes, and keeps one tracking page across both. We make FarEye, so test this entry hardest.
- Carrier allocation: Rules by cost, serviceability, delivery speed, and performance, with rate shopping and invoice reconciliation.
- Routing and dispatch: Plans against driver schedules, vehicle capacity, and time windows for owned, hybrid, and outsourced fleets.
- Tracking and updates: One branded tracking page across vans and carriers, with rescheduling and returns.
- Exceptions and POD: Control tower alerts, AI agents for no-shows and rerouting, and audited proof of delivery.
UK marketplace Creoate cut its carrier onboarding time by 90% on FarEye. G2 reviewers rate support and tracking highly; common complaints are slow performance and technical issues, and rollouts take longer than self-serve tools.
- Integrations: OMS, WMS, TMS, and ERP connections; Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, and Amazon; no-code carrier onboarding.
- Pricing: Custom quote based on volume, fleet mix, and modules. G2: 4.7/5
- Choose it if: Your vans and several UK carriers share one order book, and you want allocation, tracking, and returns in one flow.
- Look elsewhere if: You run one small own fleet or ship only through carriers.
2. Descartes
Descartes is a logistics software suite whose UK route planning and fleet management products run from Chippenham. It suits large own fleets where compliance and vehicle restrictions shape the routes, and counts UK two-person specialist ArrowXL as a customer.
- Route planning: Strategic and daily route planning for own fleets.
- Clean Air Zones: Selects eligible vehicles for Clean Air Zone deliveries once vehicle data is set.
- Mobile and telematics: Driver apps and vehicle tracking.
- Compliance tools: Drivers' hours and tachograph products.
Reviewers like the ease of use once live and the support during rollout. Common complaints are lengthy setup, a complex interface for new users, and limited reporting. Our FarEye vs Descartes comparison covers the trade-offs in depth.
- Integrations: Not listed on its UK routing site; parcel shipping sits in separate products.
- Pricing: Custom quote, no free trial; our Descartes pricing breakdown explains the packaging. G2: 4.3/5
- Choose it if: You run a large own fleet and compliance rules drive your routes.
- Look elsewhere if: You want vans and carriers managed in one product.
3. Bringg
Bringg is fleet and carrier coordination software for retailers that run in-house dispatch while handing orders to carrier partners. It's headquartered in Tel Aviv with a London office, and its UK carrier connections are documented through Zenkraft, its shipping product for Salesforce.
- Dispatch: Driver management and routing for in-house fleets.
- Carrier connections: A network of 250+ carriers globally; Zenkraft lists Royal Mail, DPD UK, Yodel, and DHL.
- Customer experience: Delivery updates and customer communication tools.
- Reporting: Reporting across fleets and carrier partners.
Reviewers call it flexible, with wide integration options. Common complaints are complexity, a learning curve, and integration or API issues, and its G2 reviews are few and mostly older. Our FarEye vs Bringg comparison covers where the two differ.
- Integrations: Shopify app; Salesforce Commerce Cloud through Zenkraft.
- Pricing: Custom quote, no free trial; our Bringg pricing guide covers what drives it. G2: 4.6/5
- Choose it if: You want configurable fleet and carrier coordination and have a team to configure it.
- Look elsewhere if: You need a fast rollout with little in-house configuration work.
4. eLogii
eLogii is London-based route optimisation and scheduling software for teams running their own fleets and field staff. Its UK customers include NHS services and Belfast City Council, and it's the only tool here that builds a named UK break rule into scheduling.
- Dynamic routing: Route optimisation with zones and delivery windows.
- Shifts and breaks: Shift schedules, break windows, and a UK 30-minute break after six hours.
- Customer updates and POD: Notifications and proof of delivery capture.
- API: REST API and webhooks.
Capterra UK reviewers praise fast, proactive support and a quick setup. Complaints include vehicle edits overwriting route history, limited branding on proof-of-delivery screens, and no phone support line.
- Integrations: REST API and webhooks; named integrations include Simpro and Samsara.
- Pricing: Custom quote; starting price published in USD; demo rather than trial. G2: 4.8/5 (5 reviews)
- Choose it if: Routing complexity and UK working-time rules are your main problems on an own fleet.
- Look elsewhere if: Carriers handle a large share of your deliveries.
5. Onfleet
Onfleet is route planning and dispatch software from San Francisco for teams delivering with their own drivers, mostly in dense urban areas. Its UK users include Dulux Decorator Centre, and its driver app is the main draw.
- Dispatch: Route optimisation with zones and windows; auto-dispatch on higher plans.
- Driver app: Photo and signature proof of delivery.
- Notifications: Status and ETA messages on every plan.
- Courier network: Overflow orders sent to partner couriers.
Reviewers find it easy for dispatchers and drivers, with a strong API. Complaints include price rises and features sold as add-ons, from 2023 reviews. SMS is billed separately per segment.
- Integrations: Shopify and Square, plus Zapier, API, and webhooks.
- Pricing: Published monthly plans based on completed tasks, 14-day free trial. G2: 4.6/5
- Choose it if: You run an urban own fleet and want to go live within weeks.
- Look elsewhere if: You need rule-based allocation across UK carriers. Our Onfleet alternatives roundup covers that case.
6. Spoke Dispatch
Spoke Dispatch, formerly Circuit for Teams, is UK-based route planning and dispatch software priced per stop with unlimited drivers. It suits small and mid-size fleets running straightforward multi-stop routes. It's software for your own drivers, not a courier service.
- Route optimisation: Fast multi-stop optimisation with time windows.
- Driver settings: Shift times, vehicle type, and stop limits per route.
- Tracking: Live tracking and ETAs, with branded tracking on higher plans.
- Integrations: Shopify, Zapier, API, and webhooks.
Reviewers like the ease of use and fast optimisation. Complaints include limited route customisation, such as priorities and stop durations, and occasional geocoding errors. Our FarEye vs Route4Me vs Spoke comparison shows where it stops.
- Integrations: Shopify, Zapier, read and write API, and webhooks.
- Pricing: Published per-stop plans, 7-day free trial. G2: 4.7/5 (11 reviews)
- Choose it if: You run simple multi-stop routes and want low per-stop pricing.
- Look elsewhere if: You need deep route rules, carrier allocation, or enterprise reporting.
7. Track-POD
Track-POD is proof-of-delivery and route planning software, run for UK and European customers from Vilnius. Its strength is detailed handover evidence for goods where damage and signatures matter.
- Custom POD: Photos, signatures, barcodes, cash on delivery, and custom checklists.
- Route planning: Routing with vehicle types and truck restrictions.
- Notifications: Customer updates and live visibility.
- Integrations: WooCommerce, Linnworks, and Xero built in; Shopify through Zapier.
Reviewers praise ease of use and fast onboarding. Complaints include inconsistent support response times and occasional notification reliability problems.

- Pricing: Per driver per month, 7-day free trial; SMS extra. G2: 4.5/5
- Choose it if: Damage documentation and signed handovers are your biggest delivery problem.
- Look elsewhere if: Routing efficiency at high stop counts is your main concern.
8. Detrack
Detrack is delivery tracking and proof-of-delivery software from Singapore for small fleets that need visibility and evidence quickly. Route optimisation sits on its higher plan.
- Driver app: Photo, signature, and barcode proof of delivery.
- Tracking: Real-time tracking and customer notifications.
- Route optimisation: Multi-driver optimisation with working hours and time windows.
- Integrations: Shopify, WooCommerce, and Xero built in.
Reviewers like the driver app, responsive support, and value. Complaints include awkward recurring-job setup and GPS tracking stopping if a driver taps stop.
- Integrations: Shopify, WooCommerce, Xero, QuickBooks; Zapier and open API.
- Pricing: Per driver per month, 14-day free trial. G2: 4.5/5 (12 reviews)
- Choose it if: You need tracking and proof of delivery running within days on a small fleet.
- Look elsewhere if: You need carrier allocation or advanced routing across depots.
9. Locate2u
Locate2u is route planning and delivery scheduling software from Sydney, with a UK regional site. Its standout feature is a customer booking page, which suits installers, service teams, and furniture deliveries.
- Customer booking: Customers pick their own delivery slots.
- Route optimisation: Working hours, vehicle restrictions, and urban zones.
- Tracking and POD: Live tracking and proof of delivery.
- Integrations: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce, and Xero.
Reviewers praise live tracking and optimisation, though reviews are too few to judge reliably, and one notes a learning curve.
- Integrations: Ecommerce and accounting connectors, REST API, and webhooks.
- Pricing: Platform fee by module, free trial; API and white label priced separately. G2: 4.5/5 (12 reviews)
- Choose it if: Your customers book their own delivery or installation slots.
- Look elsewhere if: You need UK carrier integrations or large-fleet reporting.
10. Shipmate
Shipmate is multi-carrier shipping and label software built in Derby for UK and Irish retailers. It has no routing or driver app; it covers everything up to the carrier handoff.
- Carrier integrations: 33 carrier-approved integrations, including Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, Parcelforce, DHL, UPS, FedEx, and InPost.
- Labels: Label printing and shipping rules.
- Tracking: Shipment tracking across carriers.
- Store connections: Shopify and WooCommerce.
It's the most UK-native option here, with GBP pricing and the broadest named UK carrier list. Reviews are too few to identify themes. Yodel isn't on its carrier list.
- Integrations: Shopify and WooCommerce; API on its enterprise plan.
- Pricing: Monthly plans by label volume in GBP, excluding VAT, with overages and a free trial. Not rated on G2
- Choose it if: Every order ships through UK parcel carriers.
- Look elsewhere if: You dispatch any of your own vans.
What UK Buyers Should Check Before a Demo
Mentioning Royal Mail and ULEZ doesn't make software UK-ready. These seven checks show whether a tool handles UK operating conditions or leaves them to your team.
1. UK Carrier Integrations: Native, Maintained, or Custom
"Integrates with DPD" can mean anything from a maintained connector to a one-off API project your team has to patch. Ask which functions each integration covers: booking, labels, tracking events, returns, and exception codes. Then ask who updates it when the carrier changes. That's a live issue: Evri and DHL eCommerce UK won unconditional CMA clearance to merge in September 2025, with DHL eCommerce UK's network due to become Evri Premium in 2026 (DHL Group, September 2025).
Carrier performance varies enough to justify allocating by it. Ofcom fined Royal Mail £21 million after it delivered 77% of First Class mail on time in 2024/25 against a 93% target (Ofcom, October 2025). A tool that scores carriers on live data, not monthly reports, lets you manage carrier performance by lane.
2. ULEZ, Congestion Charge, and Vehicle Restrictions
London's ULEZ covers every borough. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes that don't meet Euro 4 (petrol) or Euro 6 (diesel) pay £12.50 a day, every day (TfL). The Congestion Charge rose to £18 a day from 2 January 2026 and now runs 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day, with a 50% discount for electric vans on Auto Pay (TfL, November 2025).
Ask whether routing treats vehicle eligibility as a constraint or just reports the charge afterwards. Descartes documents automatic vehicle selection for Clean Air Zones, and Locate2u mentions urban-zone restrictions; we didn't find either feature documented for the others. If you're moving vans to electric, check EV route planning for charging stops and range too.
3. GB Drivers' Hours
Most vans fall under the GB domestic rules: no more than 10 hours' driving and 11 hours on duty in a day (GOV.UK). Vehicles over 3.5 tonnes follow the assimilated rules: 9 hours' driving a day (10 twice a week), a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours, and a tachograph (GOV.UK). Ask each vendor to show limits applied when the plan is built, not just recorded afterwards. eLogii builds a UK break rule into scheduling, and Detrack and Locate2u include working hours in optimisation.
4. Postcodes, Rural Routes, and Regional Coverage
Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, and remote rural postcodes often carry carrier surcharges or slower services. A UK-ready tool should let you allocate by postcode, validate addresses before dispatch, and record why a delivery failed at a hard-to-find location, so the next attempt doesn't repeat it.
5. UK GDPR for Driver Tracking and Customer Data
Two common claims are wrong. UK GDPR does not require explicit consent for driver location tracking: the ICO says consent is generally inappropriate for workers because of the power imbalance, and employers usually rely on legitimate interests or, for drivers' hours, legal obligation (ICO). And UK GDPR does not require UK or EEA hosting; transfers abroad need adequacy regulations or safeguards such as the IDTA or UK Addendum, plus a transfer risk assessment (ICO, January 2026).
What you do need: a DPIA for high-risk monitoring, clear notice to drivers, tracking that drivers can switch off outside working time, and a written Article 28 contract with your vendor. The ICO's employment guidance is under review following the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, and this section isn't legal advice, so check the current position with your data protection lead.
6. Consumer Rights and Proof of Delivery
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods stay at the retailer's risk until the customer has them (section 29), and delivery must happen within 30 days unless you agreed otherwise (section 28). So when a customer says a parcel never arrived, your electronic proof of delivery is the evidence. Citizens Advice found the most common problems were drivers leaving before the customer reached the door and parcels left somewhere insecure (Citizens Advice, November 2025).
7. Pricing and Total Cost in GBP
Only Shipmate on this list publishes GBP prices; the rest publish in USD or AUD or quote by scope. The licence is rarely the whole bill. Ask for SMS and voice charges, API access tiers, onboarding fees, overage rates, and minimum terms, and confirm whether prices exclude VAT. Then compare cost per delivery, adding dispatcher time and failed attempts, because those are where most last-mile delivery costs sit.
How to Test Your Shortlist: UK Demo Scenarios
Feature lists won't separate your final two or three tools. These scenarios will. Ask each vendor to run them on a real day of your orders, in the live product.
| Scenario | Ask the vendor to show | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Van to carrier overflow | Orders over van capacity in Birmingham postcodes move to DPD | Rules move the orders, labels and tracking are created, and the customer's page doesn't change |
| Missed window | A driver runs 90 minutes late mid-route | Routes re-plan, customers get revised ETAs, and the dispatcher gets an alert |
| ULEZ vehicle | A Euro 5 diesel van is added to a London plan | The van is kept off London routes, or the charge is flagged before dispatch |
| Drivers' hours | A route that would break the 10-hour driving limit | The plan respects the limit without a manual check |
| Disputed delivery | A customer says the parcel never arrived | Photo, GPS location, timestamp, and recipient details retrieved in minutes |
| Carrier change | A carrier changes its service codes, as with the Evri Premium rebrand | The vendor maintains the mapping; no project on your side |
| All-in cost | A quote for your volumes and regions | Licence, SMS, API, onboarding, and overages in GBP, with VAT treatment stated |
Before you sign, ask for a UK reference customer with a similar fleet and carrier mix, a written rollout plan with owners on both sides, and the vendor's Article 28 data processing terms.
Which Delivery Management Software Should You Choose?
Choose by delivery model, then by UK fit. If you only run your own vans, compare eLogii, Onfleet, and Spoke Dispatch, adding Descartes when compliance drives your routes. If you only ship through carriers, start with Shipmate. If detailed handover evidence is the priority, start with Track-POD.
If your own vans and UK carriers share one order book, FarEye belongs on your shortlist alongside Bringg. FarEye's case is strongest when allocation, tracking, exceptions, and returns have to run as one flow across vans and carriers, and when your dispatchers currently make that van-or-carrier call by hand. Gartner recognised FarEye in its 2025 Market Guide for Vehicle Routing and Scheduling.
If that's your operation, book a meeting with our team and bring one real day of UK orders, your carrier list, and your van fleet. We'll run them through FarEye's allocation, routing, and tracking setup so you can compare the result with the other tools on your shortlist.

What is delivery management software?
Delivery management software plans, dispatches, tracks, and confirms deliveries. Route planners cover your own vans, shipping tools cover parcel carriers, and delivery management systems such as FarEye allocate each order between vans and carriers, with one tracking page and proof of delivery.
What is the best delivery management software in the UK?
It depends on how your orders reach customers. FarEye and Bringg suit own vans plus UK carriers. eLogii, Onfleet, and Spoke Dispatch suit own fleets. Track-POD suits detailed proof of delivery, and Shipmate suits parcel-only retailers shipping through UK carriers.
How much does delivery management software cost in the UK?
Pricing runs per driver, per task, per stop, per label, or by custom quote, and most vendors publish in USD. Shipmate publishes GBP plans. Enterprise platforms such as FarEye quote on volume, fleet mix, and integrations; check SMS, API, onboarding, and VAT.
Does driver tracking need consent under UK GDPR?
Usually not. The ICO says consent is generally inappropriate for workers because of the power imbalance. Employers typically rely on legitimate interests or legal obligation, carry out a DPIA, tell drivers about tracking, and avoid monitoring drivers outside working time.
Which delivery management software integrates with Royal Mail and DPD?
Shipmate lists Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, and Parcelforce among 33 UK carrier integrations. FarEye adds carriers through no-code onboarding, and Bringg documents UK carriers through Zenkraft. Ask every vendor which integrations are native and who maintains them before you sign.
How do customers get delivery updates from delivery management software?
FarEye sends notifications with predictive ETAs before delivery, keeps a branded tracking page live during it, offers rescheduling after a failed attempt, and shares proof of delivery afterwards. It keeps the same experience whether your van or a carrier delivers.
Does delivery management software handle London ULEZ?
Some tools treat vehicle eligibility as a routing constraint; many don't. Descartes documents Clean Air Zone vehicle selection. Since non-compliant vans pay £12.50 a day London-wide, ask every vendor to show a non-compliant van kept off London routes in the demo.
