“While delivery orchestration is an important part of LMD solutions, customer experience capabilities are just as important, if not more so. Gartner has observed the popularity of software vendors specialized in areas like post purchase experience increasing as organizations demand more capabilities to reduce where is my order (WISMO) calls, provide visibility and eventually even drive more revenue through personalized marketing campaigns.”

Key Findings from the Report

- "The last-mile delivery (LMD) technology market remains extremely fragmented. While some vendors have expanded their application offerings, most do not yet offer all the capabilities required to fully support all last-mile fulfillment processes and delivery service offerings.

- Overall, vendors in the LMD market performed well last year and, in most cases, grew their customer base and revenue despite the many headwinds faced in the industry.

- Delivery orchestration and customer experience remain the top priorities when looking for last-mile delivery solutions. However, growing costs in last-mile shipping are of increasing concern to many organizations."
